Jennifer Tilly was conceived in Los Angeles on 16 September 1958, in extremely poor conditions. Her mother, who was a failing teacher and actor, was a salesperson for cars while her dad was an auto salesman. Jennifer was the second daughter in her family and she often accompanied her mother, who worked as a teacher at school and a theater teacher, to performances. Jennifer found her performance amazing. Jennifer's divorce was finalized after she reached the age of five. Jennifer lived the majority of her life living in British Columbia when her mother relocated there with her four children. Jennifer was, despite having been quite an artistic child, was not a very educated person. In Canada she was the victim of bullying a lot. As she entered high school, her enthusiasm for theatre began to fade. In an effort to counter this, her mom helped her to be an extra in several productions. She was inspired by her mom to encourage all of the youngsters in her household to have a passion and interest for arts. Then she began acting.
